Job summary

Sheridan is hiring for a Manufacturing Associate in finishing/bindery. This nighttime shift runs 7p–7a on a full-time basis, with training provided to operate high-speed bindery equipment. You’ll feed, pack, and inspect materials, collaborate with teammates to hit daily goals, and maintain a safe, clean workspace.

No bindery experience is required—training is provided. The role offers overtime opportunities and benefits after 30 days, with a focus on long-term career growth in print

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating machinery in any industry is a plus and training is provided.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, and manuals.
• Basic math skills and ability to use measuring devices.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable with basic tools.
• Read job instructions and measurements.
• Pride in delivering quality work.

What You'll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We're Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem,we'll train you. We're looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It's a plus if you have

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
