Job summary

Marquee Staffing seeks an Assembly Supervisor to oversee daily assembly operations in a Lake Forest, CA facility. You will direct assembly personnel, ensure orders are completed per procedures and quality standards, and support in administrative and quality control tasks within the Assembly Department.

Your role includes coordinating with the Department Manager, maintaining the master schedule, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 2-3 years in a manufacturing supervisor or lead role preferred.
  • Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Department Manager and Assembly Lead to schedule and prepare orders for assembly.
  • Maintain and publish department work planner; track order status and KPIs.
  • Support with ISO procedures, quality checks, and safety compliance.
  • Perform cycles counts and assist with training and documentation updates.
  • Crosstrain team members for essential assembly functions.

SUMMARY

The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for making sure all orders scheduled for that day are assembled according to procedures and quality requirements. Responsible for directing the Assembly personnel in all duties as required by the daily workload. Performs a variety of administrative, assembly, and quality control duties specific to the Assembly Department. "Right-Hand" assistance to the Department Manager for any and all duties as determined by the Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In conjunction with Department Manager, Inventory Team, and Assembly Lead, confirm all orders are scheduled and prepared for assembly personnel. This includes: Preparing supplemental assembly documentation including labels, Initial Order Audits, Etc. Working with Lead to assign all product/orders to the appropriate personnel Maintaining and publishing department work planner Performs first piece/last pieces signs off using visual guides to ensure parts are properly assembled and correct components are used Monitors product/order status throughout the day to ensure due dates and department performance indicators are met. Review of Non-Conforming Materials and determination of use on product/order Updating the Master Schedule (Order Summary) with product/order completeness. Reporting on order completeness in daily production meetings. Support the final QC when needed (inspector).
  • Maintain digital inventory in department logs and ERP system, including but not limited to closing work orders, tracking non-conforming materials, transacting substitutions, etc.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining departmental documentation including job travelers, employee output reports, Department Performance Indicators (DPIs) etc.
  • Maintain and monitor department support supplies via FIFO and KanBan systems
  • Monitor equipment status including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance. Perform light maintenance as required. Engage Manager when equipment is non-functional or at risk.
  • Review/maintain documented department work instructions, training documents, flow charts, and visual controls per ISO requirements when necessary.
  • Crosstrain employees, both new and established, for specific assembly functions.
  • Safely follow and enforce established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, ensuring all employees perform their duties using approved safe work practices and properly wear and utilize required safety equipment.
  • Ensure area is kept clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Participate in Engineering initiatives such as Engineering Research & Developments, Engineering Change Notices, and Safe Launches.
  • Perform cycles counts as needed.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE
  • High school diploma or GED; at least 2-3 years manufacturing supervisor or lead role
  • Records maintenance skills
  • Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English
  • Ability to understand and maintain quality and safety procedures
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic
  • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift, carry and manipulate up to 30-40 lbs. objects throughout the day
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, and reach above shoulder level when needed
  • Ability to sit, stand, lift, push, pull, and walk for 4+ hours a day without limitations
  • Indoor/Outdoor warehouse environment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • General knowledge of ISO 9001 a plus
  • General knowledge of shipping methods, procedures and related documents such as bills of ladings, commercial invoices for international etc. a plus
COMPUTER SKILLS

Beginner to intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Suite
