Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) is seeking a Manufacturing Application Support Engineer to maintain and debug the software systems powering high-volume electronics manufacturing.

You will investigate issues with SQL, support MES, EAP, RMS, FDC, and WMS, and collaborate with Production, Engineering, IT, and vendors to deliver timely fixes. The role emphasizes creating high-quality documentation, SOPs, and knowledge-base articles; Mandarin proficiency is preferred for collaboration with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in manufacturing software support.
• Strong SQL and database troubleshooting for production analysis.
• Experience with Windows-based apps and client/server concepts.
• Ability to create troubleshooting guides, SOPs, and Knowledge Base articles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Use SQL to investigate and troubleshoot production issues across manufacturing systems.
• Support MES, EAP, RMS, FDC, WMS, and equipment interfaces within plant operations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with Production, Process/Equipment Engineering, IT, and vendors to resolve issues.
• Participate in RCA for critical incidents and define corrective actions.
• Provide after-hours/on-call support as required by operations.
