Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Carson City, NV is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, own the general ledger, manage month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls in alignment with GAAP and PCC policies.

You will partner with plant leadership, provide financial analysis, support operating decisions, and serve as backup to the Plant Controller. The role requires manufacturing accounting experience, standard cost knowledge, and strong Excel/ERP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA, CMA, MBA, or other advanced accounting or finance credential preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Experience with manufacturing accounting, standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis preferred.
• Working knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and internal control environments.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to analyze large financial data sets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inform non-financial leaders.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the plant's general ledger and related records.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities with timely deliverables.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and related close transactions.
• Review balance sheet items and resolve reconciling differences timely.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and PCC policy alignment in accounting processes.
• Prepare financial statements, schedules, and reporting packages.
• Analyze variances and provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Support forecasts, operating plans, and long-range financial planning.
• Back up Plant Controller and provide leadership to the accounting team.
