Job summary

Morrison Container Handling Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting function in a manufacturing environment. You will oversee month-end close, financial statements, general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, tax, and benefits, while safeguarding confidential information.

You will partner with the CEO, outside CPA, and cross-functional leaders to strengthen financial decision-making, improve processes, and provide timely insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience with financial statement prep, reconciliations, and department accountability.
• Manufacturing cost accounting experience including inventory, labor, overhead, margin, and variance analysis.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, internal controls, payroll, commissions, sales tax, and tax compliance.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience with coaching and performance reviews.
• ERP or accounting system experience; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information.
• Experience supporting audits, CPA reviews, annual tax prep, and international orders.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepare financial statements and management reporting.
• Maintain general ledger and oversee AP, AR, receipts, vendor payments, and customer collections with controls.
• Maintain product costing, inventory valuation, labor/overhead analysis, and margin visibility.
• Own sales tax compliance across jurisdictions, registrations, and monitor tax law changes.
• Lead and develop a two-person accounting team; set priorities and conduct performance reviews.
• Strengthen policies, procedures, controls, reporting, and system utilization across Dynamics 365 and Microsoft tools.
• Coordinate payroll, commissions, 401(k) administration support, and payroll tax deposits.
• Protect confidential information while supporting other accounting and business needs.
