Job summary

Genesis10 is seeking an Accountant for an onsite contract-to-hire role with a global manufacturing company in Laporte, IN. The ideal candidate has a BBA/BBS in Accounting and 2+ years of accounting experience, including journal entries and reconciliations, with strong Excel/Access skills.

Responsibilities include monthly closings, inventory reporting reconciliations, budgeting support, and journal entries for metal activity. Onsite role offering competitive hourly compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• BBA/BBS with a major in Accounting.
• 2+ years of finance accounting experience including journal entry and reconciliation experience.
• Excellent PC skills (Word, Excel, Access).
• Strong understanding of computerized reporting systems, query tools, and internal control.
• Systematic, organized approach with accuracy and reconciliation.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks and support several individuals regularly.
• Good communication skills and ability to perform and communicate financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the monthly closing process with accurate and timely completion.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and maintain inventory records; perform reconciliations.
• Oversee metal receiving and maintain daily records to reconcile activity; record journal entries for metal activity.
• Maintain worksheets for monthly melting and casting activity; record activity by alloy.
• Review activity for reasonableness and discuss variances with a supervisor.
• Assist in annual budgeting by department and line item; analyze expenditures and GL activity.
• Create and maintain document controls for Physical Inventory forms; reconcile Oracle and AS400 systems.
• Support Self-Assessment Tool procedures and policies.
