Job summary

Sterling Engineering, Inc. is hiring an Account Executive for the Manufacturing & Industrial sector in Westchester, IL. The role offers a base salary of $70,000–$90,000 annually with expected total compensation of $100,000+ through uncapped commissions.

The position is 100% on-site with a future hybrid option. You will drive new business, build strategic client relationships, and deliver staffing solutions across contract, contract-to-hire, and direct-hire models. Travel locally is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in business development, account management, or outside sales.
• Experience selling into manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
• Background in staffing, recruiting, engineering services, or technical sales is a plus.
• Proven ability to build relationships with manufacturing leaders, plant managers, and HR professionals.
• Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.
• Ability to understand technical concepts, processes, and workforce requirements.
• Self-motivated, competitive, and goal-driven.
• Willingness to travel locally for meetings and events.

Responsibilities

• Drive New Business by identifying and developing opportunities within manufacturing and industrial markets.
• Build strategic relationships with decision-makers across operations, engineering, production, maintenance, and HR.
• Develop target accounts through targeted sales strategies and prospect lists.
• Lead business development activities via cold calling, networking, LinkedIn, referrals, onsite visits, and events.
• Deliver staffing solutions by partnering with recruiting teams to meet client hiring needs.
• Grow existing accounts by building long-term partnerships and seeking additional hiring needs.
• Negotiate & close by presenting staffing solutions and finalizing agreements.
• Meet and exceed sales KPIs and revenue objectives.
• Collaborate with recruiting and leadership to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.
• Stay ahead of market trends in the industrial sector.
