Responsibilities

What you will be doing as a MANUAL WELDER:

  • Using provided setup sheet, verify correct filler metal is installed; change filler as needed.
  • Adjust weld gas flow per given WPS instructions.
  • Set up manual weld machine or download program per setup sheet instructions.
  • Verify proper tooling is installed in the robot or staged in manual area.
  • Review weld requirements from weld prints (size, spacing, location, ECT).
  • Load and locate parts into tooling per print and work instructions.
  • Weld parts per customer-provided prints.
  • Remove weld spatter and scale from finished parts.
  • May be required to remove material by grinding (metal finishing) using power tools and manually to meet customer specifications.
  • Perform quality checks per setup sheet.
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure work area is orderly and clean.
  • Set up and operate robotic weld cells.
  • Rework parts as needed to meet customer specifications.
Qualifications

What it takes to be a MANUAL WELDER with MEC:

  • High school diploma or GED, or one-year related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to train, communicate, and work with others.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; interpret bar graphs.
  • Display ethical behavior and act with integrity.
  • Reliability.
