Job summary

System One in Lafayette, Louisiana seeks a Manual QA Test Engineer with 2+ years of manual testing experience to join a hybrid Direct Hire arrangement. You will develop and execute test cases across web and mobile platforms, working closely with developers and product teams to ensure high-quality releases.

You will log defects in Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla, perform functional and non-functional testing, and validate data with SQL, contributing to robust software in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of manual testing experience.
• Know the full testing lifecycle (STLC) and SDLC.
• Ability to write clear test cases, scenarios, and test plans from scratch.
• Experience logging defects with Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.
• Hands-on testing with web and/or mobile apps.
• Strong analytical skills to spot gaps in requirements.
• Working knowledge of SQL to validate data during testing.
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Natural curiosity and creativity in finding issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test cases, validate functionality across web and mobile platforms, and partner closely with developers and product teams to ensure high quality releases.
• Dig into requirements, catch edge cases, and help deliver reliable software in a collaborative Agile setting.
• Log and track defects using Jira (or Azure DevOps, Bugzilla).
• Perform functional and non-functional testing, and validate data using SQL.
• Identify gaps in requirements and think through edge cases to improve test coverage.
