Job summary

American Precision Industries, Inc. is seeking a Manual Machinist to operate Prototrak DPM Bed Mills and machine parts from start to finish. This full-time role requires 1–3 years of manual milling experience, blueprints and GD&T proficiency, and the ability to work with precision measuring tools.

You will plan processes, set up tooling, and collaborate with Quality Control to ensure tolerances. Salary starts at $27/hr plus DOE, with a monthly production bonus and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• 1–3 years experience operating a manual Bridgeport milling machine.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
• Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators).
• Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling selection, and machining best practices.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate Prototrak DPM Bed Mills to machine parts from start to finish.
• Plan machining processes for complex or non-standard parts, including sequencing operations and selecting appropriate tooling.
• Build and modify tooling as needed, including fixtures, soft jaws, custom jaws, and other work holding solutions.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality Control to verify parts and make adjustments to maintain tolerances.
• Perform rework and repair machining when required, using sound judgment to restore parts to specification.
• Communicate with Engineering to clarify prints, tolerances, materials, and machining strategies.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures.
