Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Odessa, TX seeks an experienced machinist to set up manual lathes and mills, work to close tolerances, and determine speeds/feeds. You will sharpen tools and visualize finished products while reporting blueprint corrections.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, processing sheets, and layouts, maintaining tooling, and performing routine maintenance on equipment to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Reads drawings, process sheets, sketches, specs or layouts.
• Maintains tools and fixtures, and keeps work area clean.
• Performs close tolerance machining such as turning, boring, drilling, tapping, honing.

Responsibilities

• Operates lathes, mills and other production equipment with moderate supervision.
• Studies drawings and sequence of operations; sets up machines.
• Keeps tooling in proper working condition and maintains a clean, safe work area.
• Performs close tolerance machining and minor program edits as required.
• Maintains production records and submits final inspection reports.
