Qualifications

• At least 1 year of manual mill experience.
• Skilled in using hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Basic organizational skills with multitasking abilities.
• Physical ability to respond quickly to sounds and see potential hazards.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and wear PPE correctly.

Responsibilities

• Position and secure workpieces on machines using holding devices, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
• Remove workpieces and check conformance to specifications with gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
• Verify workpiece alignment using various measuring tools.
• Move cutters or materials manually or with automatic feeding mechanisms to achieve precise milling.
• Monitor gauges, dials, and indicators to ensure proper machine operation.
• Adjust machine controls and change worn tools as needed.
• Study blueprints and job instructions to determine setup and tooling requirements.
• Select appropriate cutting speeds, feeds, and tools to meet machining specifications.
• Ensure products meet quality standards by inspecting machined parts.

We are seeking dedicated Manual Mill Operators for positions at a local steel mill in Youngstown, Ohio. This is your opportunity to join a manufacturing team supporting precision machining and quality work.

Hours: First Shift: 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM; Third Shift: 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM.
