Job summary

Cox Manufacturing in Texas is hiring a Machinist to set up and operate engine lathes and knee mills, reading blueprints to ensure precision parts.   • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to optimize machining operations.
  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.

Full-Time | Mon - Fri | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM | $22 - $32 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

  • Setup and operate engine lathes and knee mills to produce precision parts.
  • Read, interpret, and work from blueprints and technical drawings to ensure part accuracy.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to optimize machining operations.
  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.

Job Qualifications:

  • Some hands-on experience operating engine lathes and knee mills.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, indicators).
  • Experience with surface grinders is a bonus.
