Location: St. Joseph, MO | Type: Full-Time | Shift: Day Shift | Industry: Fabrication/Manufacturing

We’re seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join a reputable and well-equipped fabrication shop in the St. Joseph area. This is a hands-on role ideal for professionals with solid experience running manual mills, lathes, and other precision machining tools. If you’re detail-oriented, safety-focused, and take pride in your craftsmanship — we want to talk to you.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation: Set up and operate manual lathes, mills (including knee mills and radial drills), drill presses, band saws, and other shop equipment

Blueprint Reading: Interpret and follow complex blueprints and technical drawings to produce parts to spec

Precision Measuring: Use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, dial indicators, and other precision instruments to ensure tight tolerances

Threading & Tapping: Perform precision threading, tapping, and other finishing operations on a variety of metal components

Tool Handling: Operate grinders, wrenches, and various hand tools with care and precision

Material Handling: Safely operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment to position and move heavy parts when necessary

What We're Looking For

Experience: Prior hands-on experience as a manual machinist in a job shop or fabrication setting is required

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of machining practices, safety standards, and equipment use

Blueprint Proficiency: Comfortable working from blueprints and engineering specs

Attention to Detail: Committed to quality, precision, and consistency

Physical Capability: Able to safely lift 50+ lbs and handle physically demanding tasks throughout the day
