Styberg Engineering is seeking a skilled machinist with strong manual machining skills and the ability to produce high-quality precision parts and components.
Responsibilities include:
- Set up, adjust, and operate manual machining tools to fabricate parts per customer specifications.
- May also operate CNC controlled machines, this includes but is not limited to mills, lathes, boring, broaching, spot welding, laser cutting, hobbing, and shaping machines.
- Adjust machine controls and change tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances
- Load/unload parts to be machined, positioning, securing, and aligning with cutting tools or tool holders on machines
- Run machines through cycles, stopping to adjust tool positions and machine controls to ensure specified timing, clearances, and tolerances.
- Study blueprints, layouts, or charts, and job order information on specification and tooling instructions to determine operational sequences
- Inspect parts to ensure product specifications are met utilizing a variety of measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and a variety of gauges/tools.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of previous manual machining experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Proficiency operating manual lathes, mills, grinders, and drill as well as exposure to CNC machining.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Position requires excellent math skills and the ability to read, interpret, and follow a variety of blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
- Ability to take precise measurements utilizing a variety of inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, and a variety of gauges/tools
- Ability to work 10 hours in a physically active and challenging environment that includes but is not limited to; walking, standing, lifting, twisting, turning, pushing, pulling while handling heavy materials/metal.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Key Information:
- All candidates will train on our 1st shift for approximately 90 days and may transfer to the 2nd -shift upon completion of training
