Opti Staffing is seeking a Manual Machinist in Clackamas, OR. Set up and operate manual lathes and knee mills, read engineering drawings, and turn shafts to precise tolerances using micrometers and calipers.

This full-time, onsite role offers $25+ per hour, 3-day weekend options, and exposure to unique, specialized shaft components. We value safety, reliability, and craftsmanship, and require punctuality with ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Manual machining experience, lathe and knee mill operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and prints.
  • Experience with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety.
  • Willingness to assist with repairs and general maintenance as needed.
  • Forklift experience or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual lathes and knee mills.
  • Operate band saws and various hand tools.
  • Turn shafts and components to precise dimensions and tolerances.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and prints.
  • Perform inspections and verify finished dimensions with precision tools.
  • Assist with repairs and maintenance around the plant.
  • Operate a forklift after certification.
  • Assist with welding tasks when qualified.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety procedures.
