Job summary

Hunting Titan in Texas is seeking a machinist to perform manual processes including single point turning, knurling, hole drilling, and basic threads. You will ensure parts meet specifications and maintain tooling and machines in a safe environment.

You will learn to use and read measuring devices, adjust finishes to meet tolerances, and interpret blueprints and safety instructions while contributing to a productive, compliant shop floor.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and blueprints.
  • Proficient with basic arithmetic and dimensional calculations for tolerances.
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments and setup procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual machining including turning, knurling, drilling, and threading with moderate tolerances.
  • Verify finished parts against specifications and document results.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safe operation of machines, reporting issues to supervision.
  • Meet on-time delivery goals by following tooling priority lists.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Able to successfully complete manual machining processes.
  • Safely apply basic machine operations such as: single point turning, knurling, hole drilling, part marking, and basic threads.
  • Use tooling priority list to meet on time delivery demands.
  • Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
  • Maintain machines and communicate any machining issues with supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

General Requirements:

  • Learn to use and read measuring tools.
  • Able to make adjustments to get desired finish on parts.
  • Learn to single point internal and external threads and machining operations with moderate tolerances.

Technical Requirements / Skills:

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and make the safety coordinator aware of any unsafe situations.
  • Able to grind basic cutting tools and drills.
  • Able to use and read measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gages, steel rules, and conversion charts.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blue prints.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure and able to calculate figures such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Good hands-on mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Must be detail oriented

Work Environment / Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee is exposed to noise levels that maintain under standard levels. Proper protective equipment is required, including steel toe boots, and safety glasses. Earplugs are available.

(These vision requirements relate to obtaining a valid driver’s license and recognizing current Hazmat warning labels that are color-coded.)
