Job summary

RR Donnelley is seeking a 3rd shift operator to run table top and automated equipment for processing statements, letters and notices. You will ensure quality, setup and maintenance, while coordinating with vendors as needed.

The role requires 1+ years’ experience, mechanical aptitude, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Overtime, weekends, and holidays are expected as part of production schedules.

• 1+ years’ experience in operating electronic and/or mechanical equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and detail orientation.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Must stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Achieve standard production and quality goals.
• Perform moderate mechanical adjustments and setups.
• Willing to work overtime including weekends/holidays.
• Work under direct supervision and follow guidelines.

Job Description

Operates various table top equipment and / or manual handling to process statements, letters, notices, etc.Duties may include; capturing, sorting and / or distributing items or documents using machinery to meet requirements, setting up equipment such as postage meter machines and folding equipment. Monitoring quality of product, preparing and organizing work for subsequent processing through machines, maintaining all equipment and systems, performing processing according to service levels, performing moderate maintenance and repairs, identifying and resolving routine to moderate problems. May communicate with technical vendors. Executes jobs through a PC. Works under general supervision, may act as senior operator and support less senior staff. May exercise judgment within guidelines.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in operating electronic and / or mechanical equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to operate well in a team environment.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, repetitive hand motion required and able to lift / push up to 50lbs.
• Must have the ability to achieve standard production and quality goals.
• Must be capable of performing moderate mechanical adjustments and job setups to reduce equipment downtime.
• Must be willing to work mandatory overtime periods including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work under direct supervision and follow specific guidelines.
• Able to operate moderately complex machines, moderate troubleshooting and perform moderate maintenance and repairs.
• Possesses communication skills to interact with less senior staff and technical vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast paced, demanding, deadline driven production environment.
• Experience with Pitney Bowes Postage Metering equipment.
• Product knowledge.
• PC Skills.

The salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $15.50 - $21.00/ hour. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
