BCG Attorney Search seeks a Mandarin-speaking Patent Attorney to join its Seattle, WA office. The attorney will prepare and prosecute patents in computer-related tech, manage filings before USPTO and foreign offices, and coordinate with foreign associates.

Candidates must hold a JD and a CS or EE BS, be licensed to practice, and be fluent in Mandarin. The role emphasizes analytical rigor and cross-border patent strategy.

Qualifications

• JD degree and BS in CS or EE.
• Licensed to practice law.
• 3 years of IP attorney experience.
• Membership in a state bar association.
• Licensed to practice before the USPTO.
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
• Knowledge of complex computer and electrical technologies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications in computer-related technology fields.
• File and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO and foreign offices.
• Oversee patent application processes in jurisdictions including China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
• Direct foreign associates in English and Chinese on patent applications.
• Conduct invention disclosure meetings in Chinese and English.
• Review and evaluate complex invention disclosures and technical documents.
• Translate patent applications between Chinese and English.
• Perform prior art searches for patentability and validity.
• Advise and represent clients in private matters and before government agencies.
