Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Compliance Engineer in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. You will lead complex environmental compliance initiatives, guide client projects, and mentor teams while ensuring regulatory excellence and sustainable operational performance.

The role requires a PE license, 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, and strong leadership with excellent communication for client engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and auditing.
  • PE registration or ability to obtain licensure.
  • Strong leadership and project-management skills, with ability to mentor teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% regionally/nationally.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise on hazardous waste, hazardous materials, and compliance projects.
  • Manage project execution including budgeting, QA/QC, and regulatory assessments.
  • Lead development of compliance plans, permits, and reports (air, EPCRA, SPCC, stormwater, NPDES, wastewater).
  • Conduct environmental audits and implement corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with ERM subject matter experts to deliver integrated solutions.
