For our client, we are seeking a Managing Engineer - Risk Data & AI (Remote, US) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.
This role will lead a team focused on building and improving data and AI solutions that support risk-related business needs. The position combines hands-on technical leadership with architecture, delivery coaching, and cross-functional partnership to bring scalable, reliable capabilities into production. You will help shape engineering direction, strengthen data quality and system reliability, and translate business requirements into practical solutions.
Location: Remote
Compensation: $120,000 – $193,725 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team focused on data products and AI applications
• Set the technical direction for data engineering and AI engineering initiatives
• Contribute hands-on to architecture and design decisions
• Own production outcomes related to system reliability and data quality
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to align on priorities
• Drive modern engineering practices like TDD and MLOps
• Translate business requirements into scalable data and AI solutions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data, analytics, or AI engineering, particularly with Python and/or Java
• 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams with a focus on architecture and delivery coaching
• Proficient in APIs, backend services, data pipelines, and analytical/reporting systems
• Experience in delivering AI-enabled applications and intelligent automation solutions
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices such as DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of Generative AI frameworks and large language models
• Experience in agile environments focused on data, analytics, or AI solutions
