Job summary

Vox Media in New York is seeking a gatekeeper of quality and coherence to oversee the daily operations of The Strategist, aligning editorial and operational efforts to grow our audience.

You will lead editorial planning, manage assignments, and coordinate cross-functional teams to execute major tentpole events and holidays, while guiding 2-3 direct reports and refining workflows with Airtable and CMS tools.

Qualifications

• Deep experience running operations in print or digital media.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational systems.
• Ability to work autonomously and drive tasks across finish line.
• Experience in audience and platform management.
• People management experience.
• Strong understanding of Strategist priorities and sensibility.
• Strong project management skills and comfort with tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee editorial calendar, day-to-day publishing and quarterly content plans.
• Oversee new assignments and ensure Airtable tracking for visibility.
• Lead strategic planning for ecommerce tentpole events and holidays.
• Manage 2-3 direct reports and an Updates Coordinator.
• Edit daily Deal Freaks newsletter.
• Manage team calendar and meetings.
• Update Strategist homepage and build CMS articles as needed.
• Create, document, and refine creative workflows using Airtable.
• Oversee freelancer/vendor contracts, onboarding, budgets, payments.
