Job summary

Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, seeks a Full-Time Faculty Research Staff member for the College of Computational, Mathematical and Physical Sciences. You will serve as Managing Editor of Frontiers Magazine and as Assistant Communications Manager, directing editorial content and production for two issues annually reaching 15,000–20,000 alumni.

You will also develop college-wide communications, supervise student staff, and coordinate grant proposals and research publications with faculty

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and must be completed by the start date.
• Minimum one year of technical writing/editing experience.
• Experience in professional writing, editing, and publication management.
• Ability to develop engaging content for diverse audiences including technical and scientific subjects.
• Experience supervising student employees or team members; knowledge of branding standards and content development strategies.
• Preferred: technical writing, grant writing, and graphic design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, writing, editing, design, production, printing, and distribution of Frontiers Magazine annually.
• Develop engaging editorial content, collaborate with faculty and freelance writers, oversee visual design and BYU branding.
• Support college-wide communications: newsletters, websites, emails, announcements, and special projects.
• Manage timelines, coordinate approvals, and collaborate with college leadership, faculty, staff, and students.
• Supervise student employees, provide training and mentorship, monitor performance and deadlines.
• Develop grant proposals, research publications, and supporting documentation with faculty researchers and administrators.
