ASHRAE is seeking a Managing Director of Publications to provide strategic and operational leadership for its publishing portfolio. This role includes developing publishing strategies, managing resources, and ensuring quality content aligns with the organization's mission.
The ideal candidate will possess a college degree and at least 12 years of publishing experience, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills. This position requires domestic and international travel to support various publishing operations.
The Managing Director of Publications provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization's publishing portfolio. They are responsible for establishing publishing practices coupled with processes that respect volunteer engagement, build technical authority, and contribute to the association's larger purpose of serving humankind. The department's work encompasses book and standards publishing, magazine management, academic journal publishing, and digital media development and access. Nurturing partnerships that provide specialized services and expand markets form a critical component of the department's success. This role drives content quality and excellence, operational efficiency, revenue growth, and market expansion while ensuring that publishing activities align with the organization's mission, strategic priorities, and quality standards.

Travel Requirements This position requires periodic domestic and international travel to attend conferences, meetings, industry events, volunteer leadership activities, and partner engagements. Travel may involve overnight stays and is expected to occur throughout the year, including international travel at least twice annually, based on organizational needs. The employee must be able to travel with or without reasonable accommodation.
