Job Description
Under the direction of the Deputy Chief of Professional Learning, the Managing Director of Professional Learning & Instructional Talent Development executes KIPP Texas’s professional learning strategy to ensure excellent and equitable student outcomes, focusing on teachers and instructional leadership. This leader ensures all educators are equipped to fulfill our promise through responsive, data-informed development that enhances teaching practices.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the KIPP TX Approach to Professional Learning: Implement a statewide vision for professional learning aligned with student achievement goals; coordinate with academic and operational leaders to ensure coherence; establish quality assurance systems; manage logistics for effective content delivery; facilitate Train the Trainer programs; develop asynchronous learning strategies.
  • Drive Teacher and Instructional Leadership: Design professional learning programs for teachers and leaders; develop tiered learning experiences to improve proficiency; align development with the Framework for Effective Teaching and measurable growth targets.
  • Lead a High-Performing Team: Manage and coach leaders to implement cohesive professional learning; foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and accountability; oversee operational execution to ensure efficiency and strategic alignment.
  • Data-Driven Strategy: Use data to prioritize support and interventions; partner with teams to deliver relevant learning experiences; monitor effectiveness through impact metrics tied to student outcomes.
  • Serve as an Academics Senior Leader: Act as the primary liaison for professional learning; build cross-functional partnerships; ensure investments center on student needs and achievement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred in Education
  • 10+ years in K-12 public education
  • 7+ years in people management, including 5+ years in systems-level or executive roles
  • Experience leading or supporting K-12 schools in academic excellence
  • Proven record of delivering educational excellence
