The Opportunity

The Managing Director of Primary Curriculum and Instruction will co-create and execute the vision for primary curriculum and instruction, focusing on foundational literacy across our schools. This role involves decision-making authority on daily academic vision and ensuring alignment with KTX’s mission and goals.

Collaboration across departments will be vital to maintain consistency and improve the skills of middle and high school leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement the vision for foundational literacy and math curriculum and instruction.
  2. Manage curriculum and assessment creation, ensuring alignment with standards and college readiness benchmarks.
  3. Lead data-driven curriculum development to enhance student achievement.
  4. Design and lead professional development for teachers and leaders.
  5. Create a cohesive coaching cycle for curriculum implementation.
  6. Oversee primary academic programs, including state-mandated initiatives.
  7. Evaluate and adjust curriculum based on student performance data.
  8. Manage the curriculum team, including hiring, training, and quality assurance.
  9. Monitor curriculum implementation through classroom visits and feedback.
  10. Build instructional leadership capacity among school leaders.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in curriculum development and instructional leadership.
  • Deep knowledge of literacy and math instruction.
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication, team-building, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to equity and culturally responsive practices.
