The Opportunity

The Managing Director of Primary Curriculum and Instruction will co-create and execute the vision for primary curriculum and instruction, focusing on foundational literacy across our schools. This leader will have decision-making authority over daily academic visioning and will be responsible for ensuring the achievement of KTX’s mission and goals.

This role requires collaboration across departments to ensure consistent practices and resource use, with a focus on improving the skills and knowledge of middle and high school leaders.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Co-creating and implementing the vision for foundational literacy and math curriculum and instruction.
  2. Managing curriculum creation, vetting, and assessment development to meet and exceed state standards and prepare students for AP success.
  3. Leading data-driven curriculum adjustments to enhance student achievement.
  4. Planning and leading professional development aligned with curriculum and instructional best practices.
  5. Creating and executing a cohesive coaching cycle for effective lesson instruction.
  6. Monitoring curriculum implementation through regular school visits and classroom walkthroughs.
  7. Building instructional leadership capacity among school leaders.
  8. Managing budgets, grant applications, and resource allocation for primary education programs.
  9. Analyzing academic performance data to inform curriculum and instructional practices.
  10. Hiring and managing curriculum teams to ensure high-quality content and assessments.

Additional duties include maintaining professional knowledge, performing other leadership tasks, and demonstrating a commitment to equity, cultural competence, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications include:

  • Proven ability to develop and deliver effective curriculum and programming.
  • Deep understanding of instructional practices, curriculum frameworks, and assessment strategies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and lead systems thinking initiatives.
  • Experience in managing teams, budgets, and professional development programs.

We offer competitive salary packages based on experience and education, along with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and more. KIPP Texas is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
