Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking a Managing Director to lead and accelerate growth within its Data Center division across the United States. The role demands senior leadership, a strong commercial background and the ability to win new business in a competitive market.

The successful candidate will own P&L, drive revenue and profitability, and build lasting relationships with developers, operators and contractors to scale a growing data center practice.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in engineering or infrastructure, with data centers or critical power a plus.
• Proven track record in securing new business and expanding client relationships.
• Experience managing P&L, budgets and commercial performance at a divisional level.

Responsibilities

We’re partnering with a leading engineering firm to appoint a Managing Director to lead and accelerate growth within its Data Center division.

With over 60 years of engineering experience, 10+ offices across the US and a strong track record in critical power and mission-critical infrastructure, the business is investing in the continued expansion of its data center capabilities.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an established engineering executive with a strong commercial background, the ability to win new business and the vision to build a growing data center practice.

The Role:

• Take full P&L responsibility for the Data Center division, driving revenue, profitability and overall business performance.
• Lead strategic business development, securing new clients and expanding existing relationships across the data center market.
• Leverage an established engineering platform with approximately $20M in engineering capacity to accelerate growth.
• Develop and execute a growth strategy aligned with the evolving demands of the data center and mission-critical sectors.
• Build and strengthen relationships with data center developers, owners, operators, contractors and other key industry stakeholders.
• Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams, identifying opportunities to expand technical capabilities and service offerings.
• Represent the business at an executive level, positioning the division for long-term commercial success.

What We’re Looking For:

• Senior leadership experience within engineering, ideally across data centers, mission-critical infrastructure or critical power.
• A proven track record of business development, winning new clients and generating revenue.
• Experience managing P&L, budgets and commercial performance at a divisional or business-unit level.
• An established network across the US data center market, including developers, operators and major contractors.
• The ability to lead teams, develop client relationships and turn strategic opportunities into sustainable growth.
