Position Summary:

  • Job Title: Managing Consultant, Emergency Management Recovery - Environment & Engineering
  • Full Time or Part Time: Full Time
  • Type: Regular
  • Compensation: $90-115k/year
  • Location: Remote, with up to 50% travel

Role Overview:

The Managing Consultant will oversee disaster recovery projects requiring environmental or engineering expertise, guiding project development, ensuring compliance, and managing teams across FEMA programs, hazard mitigation, and local/state recovery initiatives, aligned with our corporate values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise technical teams, manage project scopes, timelines, and resources, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Engage with clients, lead meetings, and represent the firm at conferences and community events.
  • Develop business opportunities, respond to proposals, and support marketing efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintain professional expertise in emergency management.
  • Support disaster response efforts as needed, including deployment to field sites.

Division-Specific Duties:

  • Manage environmental and engineering recovery projects, including geospatial analysis and permitting.
  • Coordinate with agencies, clients, and environmental specialists to ensure project success.
  • Mentor junior staff and represent the firm in stakeholder engagements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • PE certification and minimum 5 years’ experience in disaster recovery or emergency management.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, Survey123, and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.
  • Ability to pass background checks and work in the U.S.

Additional Information:

  • Must be 18+, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Travel up to 50% required, including deployments.
  • Physical ability to perform site work and lift up to 50 lbs.
