Job summary

The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) seeks a Managing Attorney based in New York City to lead a network of legal services across New York State. The role supervises three full-time staff and contract attorneys, ensuring high-quality affirmative and defensive immigration services.

Reporting to the Legal Director, you will oversee clinics, trainings, and data collection while engaging with external partners to advance immigrant rights and provide trauma-informed representation.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney admitted to practice in the United States; admission to New York preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, design, and supervise legal clinics and direct legal services across New York State.
• Supervise the provision of direct limited scope legal services to clients (asylum, SIJS, TPS, EOIR filings).
• Conduct final reviews of applications for relief drafted by paralegals and contract attorneys.
• Serve as a legal resource and answer questions from partner organizations, clients, volunteers, and stakeholders.
• Draft, edit, and/or review training materials for legal volunteers and community-facing documents.
