Job summary

Jobtailor in Massachusetts seeks a senior leader to head a team of engineers and scientists to invent and test novel subsystems for electrochemical processing of wafers and panels in semiconductor equipment.

You will drive literature review, engineering design, and experimental testing in an iterative loop, mentoring teams and coordinating with software and process engineers on new product development, while ensuring best practices and IP strategy.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Physics
• 10+ years of experience in the Semiconductor Equipment industry
• Familiarity with wet chemical and electroplating processing equipment
• Demonstrated leadership ability and management experience
• Simulation using multi-physics analysis such as Comsol and Ansys
• Deep knowledge of electrochemical processes, including electroplating, etching, rinsing and drying
• Expertise in electrochemical process engineering and wet chemical processing

Job description

• Lead a team of engineers and scientists to invent and test novel and improved subsystems for electrochemical processing of wafers and panels in semiconductor equipment
• Combine literature review, engineering design, and experimental testing in an iterative loop
• Identify future requirements and develop technology to intercept market needs
• Ensure best practices in experimental methods
• Drive computer modeling with COMSOL, MATLAB, CFD, and FEA codes to guide design work
• Drive integrated analysis of process performance and cost of ownership
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and controls engineers, and enable collaboration with process and software engineers on new product development
• Lead development of hardware, automation, fluid, and process subsystems in automated semiconductor wet process tools
• Specify system testing procedures from prototype through reliability analysis
• Drive early-stage development of new process subsystems through C&F testing
• Coordinate development of process requirements in PIDs and software specifications
• Review requirements with the software team and revise them in response to C&F and early-phase testing
• Work with patent counsel to draft and implement IP filings
• Manage multiple project teams, coordinate with business groups, set organizational priorities, and allocate resources
• Serve as a role model for teamwork and quality of innovation
