Job summary

Hertz Local Edition in Marion, IL is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn how to run a successful rental location and deliver an exceptional customer experience. This hands-on role offers structured training with a promotion path to Branch Manager in 12–18 months.

You will gain experience in sales, operations, fleet logistics, and administration while supporting daily branch tasks and leadership collaborations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Valid driver’s license required
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Customer service, sales, retail, hospitality, or other professional experience preferred
• Strong communication, computer, multitasking, and time management skills
• A self‑motivated, adaptable approach with an interest in learning the business and growing into leadership
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment
• Professional appearance and reliable attendance

Responsibilities

• Learn the rental car business through hands‑on training in sales, customer service, operations, fleet logistics, and administration.
• Support branch sales goals by building customer relationships, identifying customer needs, and applying effective sales techniques.
• Deliver a positive customer experience by helping customers through the rental process and resolving questions or concerns professionally.
• Assist with daily branch operations, including fleet inventory, vehicle preparation, lot organization, documentation, and compliance tasks.
• Partner with branch leadership to understand scheduling, team communication, performance coaching, and business metrics.
• Build the skills needed to grow into future leadership opportunities within Hertz.
