The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Store Management positions. Progression to management typically occurs within 8-12 weeks, based on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

As a management team member, an MIT is expected to:

• Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance
• Support overall store management, including:

• Store operations, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs will complete operations and management training, learning about key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression are essential to remain in the program and be considered for management roles.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work full-time with flexible shifts, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are a plus but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not mandatory
