Position Overview

The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to management roles within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

• Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance as a management team member
• Support store operations including management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Manage financial aspects, including analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements
• Oversee employee staffing, training, and development
• Manage inventory and lead customer service initiatives

MITs are responsible for completing training and learning about key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through training are essential for continued consideration for management openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis skills are a plus but not mandatory
