The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the AutoZone MIT program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is a member of the management team expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT maintains an engaged, productive team through strong leadership and initiative.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs are responsible for completing operations and management training, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Satisfactory performance and consistent progression are required for continued consideration for management openings.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and management openings.
