The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role offering work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion to Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Progression to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks based on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead by example and support store operations, including:

• Overall store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs must complete training, learn about AutoZone culture, and demonstrate progress to remain in the program. Promotion to management depends on performance and availability, not guaranteed.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work flexible full-time hours, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required
