The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. From entry into the program, progression to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will lead a store team, demonstrate initiative, and lead by example.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs must complete operations and management training, learn about AutoZone culture, and demonstrate progress to remain in the program and be considered for management roles.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and openings.
