The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is a management team member expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead by example to maintain an engaged, productive team. Responsibilities include:

• Store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including analyzing and reconciling P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs will complete operations and management training, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression are monitored to remain in the program and be considered for management roles.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work full-time flexible hours, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required
