The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare candidates for Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. The program typically lasts 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead by example and maintain an engaged, productive team. Key responsibilities include:

• Store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including analyzing and reconciling P&L statements
• Staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs will also complete training in operations and management skills, learning about AutoZone's culture. Progression depends on performance and training completion.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work full-time with flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis skills are a plus but not mandatory
