The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is a management team member expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will maintain an engaged, productive team through strong leadership and initiative.

The MIT supports the Store Manager in:

• Overall store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including managing and analyzing P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs must complete operations and management training, learn key business aspects and AutoZone culture, and demonstrate progression to remain in the program. Promotion to management depends on performance and availability.

Requirements

• 1-2 years retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Automotive experience is preferred but not required
• Experience analyzing financials, including P&L statements, is preferred but not required
