The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Promotion to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will maintain an engaged, productive team through leadership and initiative.

The MIT supports the Store Manager in:

• Overall store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including analyzing and reconciling P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs must complete training, learn about key business aspects and AutoZone culture, and demonstrate progression to remain in the program. Promotion depends on performance and available openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work full-time flexible hours, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis skills are a plus but not mandatory
