The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to management promotion within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is a member of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will lead a store team through strong leadership, initiative, and example.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs must complete operations and management training, learn about AutoZone culture, and demonstrate consistent progress to remain in the program and be considered for management roles.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and openings.
