The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Progression to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

• Be a member of the management team, live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance.
• Support the Store Manager in store operations, including management, supervision, and policy implementation.
• Handle financial management tasks like analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements.
• Manage employee staffing, training, and development.
• Oversee inventory management and lead customer service efforts.

MITs will complete operational and management training, learning key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through training are essential to remain in the program and be considered for management openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience.
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required.
