The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare individuals for Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management role within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

As a member of the management team, an MIT is expected to:

• Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance
• Support overall store operations including management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Manage financials, including analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements
• Oversee employee staffing, training, and development
• Manage inventory and lead customer service initiatives

MITs will also complete training in operations and management skills, learning key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through the training are essential for consideration for management openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Previous automotive experience and financial analysis skills are a plus but not mandatory
