The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management role within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.
An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead and maintain an engaged, productive team, demonstrating initiative and leading by example.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs must complete operations and management training, learn about key business aspects and AutoZone culture, and demonstrate consistent progress to remain in the program and be considered for management roles.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed; it depends on performance and available openings.
