The Manager, Total Rewards is a business partner who manages and assists in developing a total rewards strategy that will support and sustain a high performing culture that attracts, motivates, and rewards at the field and corporate levels in both the US and Canada. The Manager, Total Rewards will lead the implementation and administration of the compensation, benefits, and recognition programs in a timely and legally compliant manner. This hands‑on leader serves as member of the Human Resources Team, working in conjunction with other HR Leaders and external vendors to support the goals and strategic growth of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and design an ongoing total rewards strategy, aligned with the Company’s strategic initiatives, to support and sustain a high performing culture that attracts, motivates, retains and rewards talent.
- Provide support to the team to effectively manage and implement the total rewards strategy.
- Analyze and make compensation and benefits recommendations using external and internal data, including industry trends, best practices, tax and legislative requirements.
- Collect and leverage feedback from existing employees to define changes and evolutions to the total rewards approach at both the field and corporate level.
- Design and manage benefits programs including health, 401K, life, disability, paid time off and voluntary plans.
- Oversee the payment of union dues, benefit expenses and retirement savings contributions.
- Design and manage common compensation components, including salary structure and design, merit processes, salary budget review and market compensation analysis.
- Plan and manage projects strategically and tactically to appropriately align time, resources and dependencies.
- Responsible for effective management of vendors and carriers; support team members in vendor, carrier and internal client interactions.
- Ensure vendors and carriers are providing excellent levels of service, competitive pricing, and relevant results. Develop dashboard to measure performance of various plans and programs to reflect enrollment participation, spend, design features, ROI etc.
- Manage the relocation program for internal transfers and external hires.
- Work with internal and external tax and legal experts, auditors, consultants and vendors as needed.

Position Qualifications
- 4-year bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience within one of the total rewards components, preferably in retail or hospitality.
- Knowledge of US and Canadian benefits and compensation laws and regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience with understanding process flow, including up and down-stream impacts, payroll interface, HRIS.
- Relates to and works effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully and nimbly manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet required deadlines, keeping all stakeholders aligned and apprised of required activities in advance.
- Works well independently and in a team environment and has managed others.
- Strong communicator, able to articulate complex topics both verbally and in writing to various audiences, both in terms of training and influencing.
- Prior experience managing and leveraging vendor relationships.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HRIS.
