Job summary

Jobtailor in United States, Pennsylvania seeks a senior PMO leader to manage project management and analyst staff across healthcare IT initiatives. The role ensures strategic alignment, governance adherence, and portfolio oversight to drive digital transformation and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will mentor managers, monitor KPIs, and partner with business units to translate needs into deliverables, while maintaining standardized PMO practices and risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with extensive project management experience.
  • Minimum 7 years progressive work experience in IT, healthcare, or business project management fields.
  • 1 year in a lead/supervisory role and ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project management and analyst staff in areas of specialization.
  • Ensure staff performance meets business needs and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with business and functional areas to define user needs.
  • Assume responsibility for all projects within the team.
  • Ensure projects align with enterprise strategic goals and standardized governance and delivery practices.
  • Manage a portfolio of strategic initiatives while overseeing team performance.
  • Align projects with objectives including improved patient care, operational efficiency, and digital transformation.
  • Maintain PMO playbooks, policies, and standardized project management methodologies.
  • Implement best practices for project scope, risk management, and lessons learned.
  • Promote process optimization and integration across enterprise portfolios.
  • Drive intake and prioritization of technology projects through governance committees and sub-committees.
  • Facilitate operational governance committees and ensure compliance with intake workflows and demand management processes.
  • Assist with portfolio decision-making and performance monitoring.
  • Lead PMO education sessions for project managers and IS&T leaders.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Sciences and Technology, Information Management, or related fields, or Associate’s Degree and 10 years preferred work experience
  • 7 years progressive work experience in information technology, healthcare, or business project management related fields
  • 1 year experience in a lead, supervisory, or leadership role
  • Project management expertise

  • Understanding of enterprise platforms, digital technologies, and integration tools
  • Ability to manage, mentor, and coach project managers and analysts
  • Relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Effective communication and collaboration across teams and departments
  • Competence in monitoring KPIs
  • Ability to identify risks, manage change, and implement mitigation strategies for technology initiatives
  • Capacity to navigate ambiguity and deliver results using problem-solving and adaptability
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting/standing and keyboard use
