POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Technical Program Management, the Manager, Technical Program Management will lead a high-performing team of Technical Program Managers responsible for driving Engineering Programs.

The Manager, Technical Program Management will oversee end-to-end program execution, fostering a productive and collaborative environment that scales team capabilities and drives operational excellence. This role plays a key part in ensuring seamless platform integration across Sony operating companies, while partnering closely with executive leadership on planning, strategic initiatives, and communications. The position requires close collaboration with global stakeholders, including business users, product managers, and cross-functional technical teams.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, mentor, and empower a growing team of Technical Program Managers to deliver high-impact programs aligned with strategic business outcomes.

• Drive successful execution of complex, cross-platform programs through effective planning, risk management, and stakeholder alignment across global business units and product teams.

• Execute and iterate on the team's vision, strategy, and roadmap, keeping initiatives focused, achievable, and value-driven.

• Champion continuous improvement in program management processes, tools, and delivery outcomes while fostering an inclusive, accountable, and collaborative culture.

• Operate with autonomy and ownership in a large, distributed environment, consistently delivering results amid complexity and ambiguity.

• Honesty, trustworthiness and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Your qualifications and experience should include:

• Overall experience of at least 6 years in the software development industry

• At least 2 years of people management experience, with experience managing a team of Technical Program Managers or program leads

• Able to manage, mentor, and empower a team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning

• Proven ability to lead complex, multi-team programs with cross-team dependencies from concept through deployment

• Prior experience working as a Scrum Master, with a solid understanding of Agile ceremonies and team execution practices

• Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle and general system architecture concepts, sufficient to partner effectively with engineering teams

• Strong communication, cross-group collaboration, and interpersonal skills. The ability to flex communication style to work with business and non-technical users in addition to engineers

• Ability to balance priorities across multiple programs and drive alignment across stakeholders

• Ability to advise and influence technical discussions and decisions

• Experience with Agile development practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) emphasizing continuous improvement

• Experience working with globally distributed and cross-functional teams

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience

• Prior experience improving or scaling program management processes, tooling, or team workflows is a plus

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $175,000 to $195,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
