Job summary

Comet Group is seeking a Manager of Technical Project Management for its Plasma Control Technologies division at the San Jose site. You will lead a skilled project management team, drive multi-disciplinary hardware projects from concept through high-volume production, and collaborate across engineering, product, and customer teams.

The role emphasizes process acceleration, mentorship, development of schedules and budgets, and clear stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technical Project Management experience including 3+ years in a management or team-lead role leading complex hardware technology projects from inception to high-volume production.
• Hardware, software/firmware product development preferred.
• Proficient in MS Project and Microsoft Office Tools.
• Mastery of the Atlassian platform (Jira and Confluence) highly desirable.
• BS or MS degree in a technology field or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead a highly skilled project management team and run complex projects from concept to production.
• Evaluate, improve, and develop processes to accelerate time-to-market and improve quality.
• Mentor and set knowledge and career development goals for your team.
• Develop and manage development project schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Communicate project status to internal and external stakeholders.
• Work with product development schedules, dependencies, and budgets with internal partners.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve conflicts.
• Interface between customers, product engineering, and NPI cross-functional teams.
• Synthesize large data sets into clear stories for stakeholders.
