Job summary

Jobtailor in Palmdale, CA seeks a Subcontracts Leader to direct a team of 5–7 specialists responsible for cost, schedule, and performance of subcontracts. You will coordinate with contracts, engineering, and quality, escalating issues to senior management as needed.

You will brief executives and the customer on performance and cost status, conduct reviews with subcontractors, and ensure all subcontracts align with program needs and company goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, or Master’s with 3 years of experience, or HS diploma with 9 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience in Subcontracts Management, Procurement, Program Management, or Contracts Management.
• Experience with SAP or related purchasing software.
• Experience in Subcontract Management responsibility.
• Experience conducting oral presentations to executive leadership.
• Experience leading a team, process, and/or projects.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Program Special Access.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Subcontracts Team of approximately five to seven Specialists overseeing cost, schedule, and performance of subcontracts.

• Escalate issues to Supplier Senior Level management as needed.
• Brief internal exec management and Customer on status and issues affecting performance or cost.
• Conduct program reviews with Subcontractor and Program Office.
• Ensure portfolio Subcontracts meet Customer, Program, and Company needs.
• Manage personnel on the team—coach, grow, guide, and enrich careers.
• Oversee all phases of Subcontracts from initiation to execution of requirements.
• Coordinate with contracts, engineering, and quality partners.

• Act as the main focal point to the Program for all Major Subcontract related activities within their portfolio.

Requirements

• Combined experience in any of the following: Subcontracts Management, Procurement, Program Management, or Contracts Management
• Must have experience with SAP or related purchasing software
• Must have experience in Subcontract Management responsibility
• Must have experience conducting oral presentations to executive leadership
• Must have experience leading a team, process, and/or projects
• Must have a current active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance
• Must have the ability to obtain/maintain Program Special Access
